The Foundation Year Training in Group Analysis is a one-year, immersive program designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of group analytic thinking. Combining insights from psychoanalytic theory, social science, and systems theory, the course explores how individuals operate within groups and the wider society.

Core Components.

* Personal psychotherapy within an ongoing group analytic psychotherapy group

* Seminars introducing foundational group analytic and psychoanalytic concepts and principles

 * Work Reflection Groups, promoting personal and professional development

 * Study of the philosophy and meta-theory of group analysis

* Examination of clinical principles of group analytic practice

* Exploration of special applications, including work in organizations and broader socio-political contexts.

The course is delivered in four intensive training blocks, each spanning 4 to 5 days. Two blocks will take place in person  while the other two will be conducted online to accommodate flexibility and wider participation. In addition to the main training blocks, there will be occasional half day Saturday online seminars throughout the year.
