Learning Process

The learning process throughout the training is primarily experiential, as we believe that this is how one learns best

Introductory Weekend

This 3-day workshop offers participants the opportunity to experience being in small therapeutic groups. In addition, the seminar sessions will introduce the basic principles of Group Analysis.

The Foundation Year

The one-year Foundation Course draws upon psychoanalytic theory, social science, and systems theory in its understanding of the human experience.

The Intermediate Year

This year builds on the one-year Foundation Course, to offer an advanced introduction to the Group Analytic approach to general group work as it is currently practiced in social, health care, and educational settings.

The Qualifying Course

The Qualifying Course is a three-plus year clinical training that follows on from the Intermediate Year and enables them to become independent practicing Group Analysis.

Introductory Weekend

Before the comprehensive training programme unfolds, Group Analysis Pakistan invites individuals to participate in a transformative 3-day intensive introductory weekend course. This immersive experience offers a unique opportunity to delve into the realm of group analysis and grasp the advantages of an IGA-certified training course for professional development. Throughout this engaging weekend, participants will gain insights into the dynamics of social and professional groups, equipping them with skills to enhance their effectiveness in diverse group settings. Attendees will explore the fundamentals of group analysis through active participation in experiential small and large groups. Additionally, they will engage in theoretical lectures designed to deepen their understanding. In addition, The seminar sessions will also introduce the basic principles of Group Analysis.

Host & Collaborations

The introductory block will be hosted by Compassion Couch Psychiatry and Therapy Clinic in collaboration with the Institute of Group Analysis, UK (IGA). Following the successful completion of the introductory block, we intend to offer a one-year foundation course in Group Analysis accredited by IGA. Attending the introductory is a prerequisite for joining the foundation year training in group analysis.
